The SY-1 can be connected to any guitar or bass via a standard 6.3 mm jack cable and is ready to play immediately. Thanks to custom DSP and cutting-edge BOSS innovations, the SY-1 delivers a latency-free performance that feels like a natural extension of your instrument. This way you can play carefree without having to adjust your playing technique. With its 121 sounds in eleven categories, the SY-1 offers an enormous variety of synthesiser colours - playable on your fretboard. There are expressive leads, swinging pads, layered organs, massive basses and more, as well as a variety of rhythmic synthesiser patterns that invite you to create extraordinary jams. You can also use the instantly accessible Tone/Rate and Depth controls to customise each sound to your liking and even change the pitch of various sounds. Thanks to the standard BOSS compact format, the SY-1 fits easily into any serial pedal chain. With its send/return loop and dedicated mix controls, you can also add one or more pedals in parallel to your signal path and crossfade them with your synthesiser sounds. For example, you can patch drive pedals into your loop and further process the combined output signal via downstream modulation, delay and reverb pedals. The send can also be used as a direct out to route synthesiser and guitar sounds to different destinations.
