The iLoud MTM from IK Multimedia is a compact active studio monitor in the MTM design, which stands for "Midrange Tweete Midrange". Accordingly, the speaker features two 3.5 inch drivers, a tweeter (1 inch) and a bass reflex port at the rear. With a stated output of 100 watts RMS, the speaker can also play really loud. The manufacturer emphasises that the frequency response is extremely linear and can cover a frequency range from 40 Hz to 24 kHz. The iLoud MTM is fully DSP-controlled and, in addition to typical sound correction on the rear, also has integrated room calibration. This feature is not necessarily surprising, as IK Multimedia has been using the ARC 2.5 calibration software for a long time and supplies it with its own measuring microphone. And it is precisely this measuring microphone that is included with the speaker and should be used to calibrate the room. The microphone is connected directly to the speaker and the frequency response is automatically corrected after the measurement - sounds promising! The feature set is rounded off with an integrated stand, compact dimensions and a combined XLR/jack connection.
