This IK Multimedia iRig Pro I/O is the trump card in your shirt pocket. The mobile audio MIDI interface is the ultra-compact studio for travelling. It has both MIDI inputs and outputs. It's unbelievable how much fits into this tiny interface. Not only does it have a Hi-Z jack input and MIDI in and out in DIN mini-jack format, it is also cross-platform compatible. This means that the iRig Pro I/O is just as compatible with Macs as it is with Windows computers, iOS devices and Android devices. The only tiny shortcoming, which can be quickly and easily rectified, is that Android devices must support USB OTG and Samsung Professional Audio must also be installed. High-quality audio in 24 bit and up to 96 kHz ensures stunning sound with the iRig I/O. The XLR/6.3 mm jack combo socket comes from Neutrik - you can see that no expense has been spared in terms of reliability and build quality. As if that wasn't enough, the mini recording studio also offers 48 volt phantom power so that the condenser microphone also gets enough juice when connected. Clear LED displays also provide a good overview of the possible active functions (gain, MIDI, phantom power). The iRig I/O can be operated either with two AA batteries (included) or the optional 5.4 volt mains adapter. Good to know that USB and Lightning cables are included. In addition to all the functionality on board the iRig I/O, there are plugins worth a whopping 550 francs on top. The plugins are as follows: AmpliTube for iOS, AmpliTube 4 for Mac and PC, SampleTank 3 SE and T-RackS Deluxe. This makes it easy to compose and record wherever you are.
