When you need instant, low-latency access operations, the NVMe M.2 SSD slot unleashes the unbridled power of the miniStack STX. NVMe was developed to unlock the speed potential of modern flash drive technology by utilising a direct path to a computer’s processor via PCIe. This means you can enjoy virtually instant access performance with the miniStack STX.

With multiple drive configurations available, you can experience real-world data transfer speeds of up to 770 MB/s. Move 5 GB of GoPro footage in around 6 seconds. Monitor and protect your data with ease
For even greater performance and security, add OWC’s SoftRAID software to your miniStack STX and set up a RAID 1 array to automatically maintain identical copies of all your data on every drive. SoftRAID has been the most comprehensive and powerful software RAID solution available for Mac and Windows for over 25 years. SoftRAID protects your data even before you start storing it by checking whether the miniStack STX drives are safe for data storage.

In the unlikely event of a hard drive failure, your data will still be complete and accessible on the other drive in the miniStack STX! SoftRAID then continuously monitors your hard drives using a combination of S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) attributes and its own I/O statistics. This in-depth analysis of the hard drive’s condition identifies potential problems, allowing you to take preventative action. SoftRAID is available for both Mac and PC, enabling the miniStack STX to be shared across different computers.

Accessing your miniStack STX on a Windows PC is particularly easy with OWC’s MacDrive. This seamless software runs in the background, so you don’t need to launch anything or learn how to use it. Simply connect the miniStack STX and you’ll have not only immediate read access, but full write access too! MacDrive also includes powerful features for formatting and partitioning drives, as well as repairing basic hard drive issues.

Just like the miniStack STX’s innovative storage capacity, these three ports have a second superpower: they reinvent the daisy chain by allowing you to create three independent chains, each with up to five bus-powered Thunderbolt devices and a USB device at the end of each chain (for a total of 8 devices). You can now also remove devices from one chain without affecting the other chain(s).
