The BOSS DS 2 is an extended version of the DS 1, which is already one of the classics of the genre. Like the DS 1, it delivers a much rougher and more aggressive distortion compared to the legendary BOSS overdrive pedals, which is clearly orientated towards the stack sound of British amps, but is far removed from the rather toneless fuzz sound of older distortion pedals. The DS-2 also has a second mode that enables even more aggressive sounds. So that you can use both variants live, there is an additional socket for a footswitch with which you can switch between the modes - extremely flexible.
